About Lee

My name is Lee Lewis. I am a lifelong eczema sufferer and burn survivor.

I have been making soap and skincare from basic ingredients to cope with my condition. In 2005, I opened a soap shed store outside my home in rural upstate New York. I was homeschooling my son then. Through my transition from city girl to country Mom, I learned gardening, canning, growing my own herbs and meeting wonderful local folk who came to my home shop "Ladybug Soap".

Exit0skincare is LADYBUG SOAP's "reboot". After the devastating fire of 2017 which destroyed our home and business our family moved to Cape May, New Jersey. You will find Ladybug Soap products here, re-created into Exit0skincare. Cape May sits at the Southernmost end of the Garden State Parkway, popularly referred to as "Exit 0". With this being our journey's end after a difficult year following our fire, we found a new start in this healing place.

Then I tried selling in a West Cape May shop on Park Boulevard from 2019 to 2022. Due to high overheads and low traffic in that locale, I closed the shop. I am grateful for everyone for stopping in!

Whether you are a Ladybug Soap "Loyal", an Exit 0 "Local", or a fellow seeker of highly effective yet affordable skincare; I welcome you to journey on with me!

MY PERSONAL MISSION and CRAFTER'S PLEDGE

I hope to provide you with beneficial soap and skincare products which create the conditions for your skin to cope and heal itself. I do this by sharing the formulations that have yielded positive results for me. Everyone is different, I really do not know what can work for your skin, your water, your conditions. I'll be happy to discuss with you which products (that I make) may be worth a try.

My products are made with naturally derived ingredients whenever possible. Because of my high skin sensitivity, I make many of my own components from raw herbs - herb distillation/hydrosols, infusions.

For all of my dilutions (the water part of liquid soaps, haircare, lotions, creams, body milks, sprays), you will find "Herb Hydrosols" instead of the filtered water or distilled water. To achieve shelf stability with minimal preservatives (I used mainly food-grade Vitamin E and Leucidal), I rely on base herbs by distilling cedar wood shavings, rosemary leaves and many more.

As a crafter, I pledge to take great care for every step of this process. From sourcing high quality ingredients, to formulating, making/producing, packaging and shipping it out to you. I do this all with the consciousness that you are a human being like me with hopes, needs and desires that are all a going concern for both of us.  I will not look to each sale as a one time passing, but a lifelong relationship. That you be well and happy matters to me.

NO MEDICAL CLAIMS

Nothing made here can cure anyone of any condition. My objective is to cope with my condition as well as I can, working with as much control of the basic ingredients I know and trust. I only know my skin - through making stuff for 2 decades, I am mostly rash-free for all seasons (so long as I keep making/using my stuff).

I understand the awesome responsibility involved in trying, buying and relying on my products. Rest assured that I rely on my products as well. I hope that through each soap bar, each spritz of bug spray or spreading of creams, you and I can stay connected.  With every product you try, even the samples, you begin a conversation with me.  As I am constantly evolving and improving my formulations, I welcome any feedback you may have. May we grow and heal together.

NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES. YOU WILL BE FULLY REFUNDED FOR MY ERRORS AND PRODUCT DISAPPOINTMENTS

Should you find mistakes with your order or are unhappy with the performance of my products or service, please inform and share with me immediately. I welcome the chance to correct my errors and improve my work and service to you.

Lather up and Cream on!
